The company was established in 1974 by the photographer Antonis Vekris,
with the 1st photo studio in Ag. Dimitriou 163 at Ag. Dimitrio, Athens. The Efficiency of
this studio was photographing-video taping, by camera super 8, of weddings,
baptisms, studio photography. In 1978 a replacement
was made from shooting to video tape recording which had just arrived in
Greece. In 1980 he installs the studio development and printing machines
of colored photographs and becomes one of the first photo studios in Greece
with its own colored lab with minimum delivery time of two hrs and offers
size 10X15 for non professionals. In 1981 he starts
photographing customers of night clubs and delivers the photos back to them
in an hour. In 1984 he o[pens
his 2nd store PHOTO STUDIO ANTONIS P. VEKRIS at Ag Dimitiou 292 and in 1985
a 3rd store , a bridges living room, at Ag. Dimitriou 162. In 1987 he established
a company called «Maritime and Tourist Enterprises» where using a boat called
«Captain Pantelis» of 14 meters length and capacity of 49 people carrying
out cruises in the area of Saronikou Bay as well as in Kyklades and Amorgos. In 1988 he established
a frame industry «Fantastic Frames» where he constructs wooden frames. He
also takes part in pan Hellenic Exhibitions of Gifts and Photography which
he supplies frames for photographic studios and present stores all over
Greece. Today the clientele (of the company) includes Carrefour supermarkets
in Athens, Thessaloniki, Larisa, Crete and 150 supermarkets Marinopoulos
all over Greece.
In 1989 he wins the Award of Patent from the Ministry of Industry, for the
support of frames. In 1991 he imports
from China, Korea, Malaysia and other astern countries metal frames and
photo album enriching, in thiw way, the collection of hiw products for his
wholesale customers. In 1994 he takes
part with his own newsstand in the Global Exhibition «Photokina» which takes
place at Colonia of Germany, with great success. In 1996 he opens
a new photo studio at 29Thoukididou str, at Kalamaki, equipping it with
contemporary machines NORITSY by KODAK. In 1997 he opens
another photo studio by the Vasos Katraki square in Glyfada. In 1998 he opens
a new store called «GALLERY» at 162 Ag. Dimitrioo replacing the Bridges
Living room that was established in 1985. In 1999 he establishes
the Industrial company «AMORGOS» publications and he starts up the publication
of a newspaper called «Our Amorgos», wich is published every two months,
a tourist guide called «Vacations in Amorgos and the small Kyklades» and
a tourist guide of the island of Shinousa. He also creates an Internet site
under the address www.amorgoisland.gr. During the same year he establishes
an anonymous company called «ENTERPRISES CLUB ANTONIS P. VEKRIS AND OFFSPRING’S
A.E.B.E» IN WHICH HIS 4 CHILDREN TAKE PART. In 2000 he equips
all his studios by contemporary machines of digital technology for development
and printing photographs.
In 2003 we founded "Amorgos" distillery that produces the drink Rakomelo "Amorgion"
which we have registered globally in order our drink to be unique. From
August of 2003 to November of 2004 we managed to distribute our drink all
over Greece.
